The team

APP is a non-profit Association born in Mallorca in 2004. It was born as a result of the reflection of different members of Catholic Prison Ministries in prisons, who saw the need to create a civil entity that could manage social projects, beyond its religious interest, to support those deprived of liberty, and integrate our professional services with the networking of our community.

The «Associació Pastoral Penitenciària», currently has a team of volunteers and 8 professionals:

– 2 Social Educators

– 1 Pedagogue

– 1 Psychologist

– 1 Janitor

– 3 Social Workers

Our mission

Our commitment is to humanize life in prison and to accompany the processes of social inclusion of those released from prison in a situation of social exclusion in Mallorca, providing them with resources, professionals and growth platforms.

Our vision

. We want to transform and minimize the impact that deprivation of liberty has in a person, especially for those in a situation of social exclusion.
. We want to offer realistic inclusion opportunities for those who have gone through one or more processes of deprivation of liberty.
. We want to provide a residential and educational space that promotes the values and abilities of our users, respecting their dignity and privacy.
. We want that our reception model promotes real inclusion, minimize stigmatization, and remains open to the activities and needs of other entities.
. We want to make users responsible for their own personal processes, empowering them progressively.
. We want to create and maintain a warm and professional climate, which generates stable inclusion processes and avoides recidivism.
. We want to open paths of innovation in the context of social and prison services in Mallorca, developing creative and sustainable initiatives in connection with other leading national and international initiatives.
